ABOUT THE AREA

Okemah is the county-seat for Okfuskee County centrally located between Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The town of Okemah has Interstate 40, state highways 56, 48, and 27 so it is easily accessible for travel.

Okemah is home to legendary folk musician Woody Guthrie and the annual Woody Guthrie festival held in July. Pioneer Days is a favorite time of the year for the locals and past residents celebrating Okemah with a carnival, parade and other downtown activities. Pioneer Day is held annually the last Saturday in April. The Pioneer Day Rodeo is a hometown favorite.

The Okemah lake offers boating, camping, swimming, and fishing in a very peaceful, clean, and relaxing setting. Okemah Lake approximately 678 acres was ranked one of the best bass lakes in the state.
